Piggies by The Beatles- The Most Misunderstood Song
Have you seen the little piggies...
Crawling in the dirt
And for all the little piggies
Life is getting worse
Always having dirt to play around in.
And for all the little piggies
Life is getting worse
Always having dirt to play around in.
Have you seen the bigger piggies
In their starched white shirts
You will find the bigger piggies
Stirring up the dirt
Always have clean shirts to play around in.
In their starched white shirts
You will find the bigger piggies
Stirring up the dirt
Always have clean shirts to play around in.
In their styes with all their backing
They don't care what goes on around
In their eyes there's something lacking
What they need's a damn good whacking.
They don't care what goes on around
In their eyes there's something lacking
What they need's a damn good whacking.
Everywhere there's lots of piggies
Living piggy lives
You can see them out for dinner
With their piggy wives
Clutching forks and knives to eat their bacon.
Living piggy lives
You can see them out for dinner
With their piggy wives
Clutching forks and knives to eat their bacon.

Piggies...I have loved this song forever. My friend and I used to play it in his car. In 2011, we played around in music. He had a keyboard, so I tried to peck it out by memory. The piano in the song is stunning. It builds up, builds up, bangs out perfectly, showcasing great talent from George Harrison.
My dream has been to learn to play this song from heart. I fired my piano teacher when I was a kid because I wanted to play by ear. One day, I'll play Piggies, its melody is tremendous.
Okay onto the song..its a shame that a song meant to be a satire got messed up thanks to the Manson family. People also thought it was a song against police. George Harrison meant something different. It was about people struggling in life while the rich get richer so to speak.
He was trying to find a word for lacking, and came up with..a damn good whacking after asking his Mother. People today wince at that line, as they picture Sharon Tate dead, and Piggies written in blood on a doorway. Talk about bad luck. You make a masterpiece of a song, and it ends up angering everyone.
A lot today might picture big elites of various names, and even celebrities to think of in this song. Politics could fit, anger at society, the world in general and life.
This is a great venting song when your mad, and feel like shaking a fist at something. It is one of those songs where you roll intensely with the beats as they match your emotions, whatever they happen to be.
